Cultural Downtown

The newly reimagined Kaleideum Downtown in Winston-Salem is a 70,000 sq. ft., 5-story children’s museum/science center that serves as a vibrant community hub for interactive learning and play. Stimmel provided civil engineering services to support the renovation and expansion of this innovative facility.

Positioned between Merschel Park and Liberty Plaza, Kaleideum connects Winston-Salem’s cultural and historic districts. The museum features indoor and outdoor exhibits, rooftop play areas, and diverse spaces for events, camps, and field trips. Our team’s work helped ensure seamless integration with the surrounding urban landscape, creating a dynamic environment that fosters curiosity and exploration for families and children alike.
