Novant Health Clemmons Medical Center is part of a master plan for a 124-acre area in Clemmons, called Village Point. The 26-acre medical campus is zoned to include a 40,000 sq. ft., 50-bed hospital and medical facilities. Several tracts are available for development uses such as physician offices.
Phase 1: The first phase includes an emergency department, imaging unit and surgery center. The 40,000 sq. ft., $27.7 million first phase sits on about 10.5 acres between Harper Road and Interstate 40. The design offers an emergency department capable of handling 40 % more volume in a footprint that’s 30% smaller than a traditional emergency department.
Phase 2: The second phase of the medical center includes the addition of 36 inpatient medical and surgical beds as well as 3 new operating suites that will complement the medical center’s focus on orthopedic care, including joint replacements. The official start to construction of the 90,000 sq. ft. phase comes more than two years after the medical center opened with an emergency department, diagnostic imaging center and 2 operating suites.
Along with work on the second phase of the medical center, construction is underway on the completion of Village Point Drive that is a partnership between the health system, the village of Clemmons and the state.
