The three-story, 120,000 sq. ft., Wake Forest University Farrell Hall School of Business, houses the undergraduate & graduate schools. It includes a 18,000 ft. living room, a 350 seat auditorium, & an outdoor terrace & garden. The building features state-of-the-art technology & groundbreaking design to create an environment where faculty-student engagement can thrive. Carroll Weathers Dr. was relocated & improvements were made to the streetscapes, sidewalks, lighting, & landscape.
Challenge: At a university, maintaining tradition within the style of new structures is integral to the overall look and feel of the campus. Wake Forest University faced this as they planned a new section of campus surrounding Farrell Hall. They hoped to preserve the school’s architectural style during the addition of an elevated walkway. An added challenge of this heavily trafficked thoroughfare was the presence of large tree roots that weren’t to be disturbed by the new pedestrian walkway.
